Industry News: Orion Bus Production to End
Daimler, the German company that owns Thomas Built Buses, recently announced that the company would cease it's transit bus production in North America.
Sighting, diminished profitability and a weak market with limited potential for growth Daimler will shutter it's Orion Bus manufacturing facilities. The closers will start with their facility in Mississauga, Ontario. The facility in Oriskan, New York will produce existing orders and then remain open in a limited role to handle the support of their existing customers. Read More

Since January 3rd of this year it has been illegal for the driver of a Commercial Motor Vehicle to use a handheld Cellular Phone. This ruling has wide implications for industries who don't usually thinking of themselves as transportation companies. By including "vehicles designed or used to transport between 9 and 15 passengers (including the driver)" this law extends to a group of operators who don't regularly think of themselves as being different from any other private citizen.
